Maxwell Coffin was a prominent real estate agent in Little Rock, born in Powhatan to James Park Coffin. He was the brother of Charles H. Coffin, and the nephew of Charles Coffin. He was a likely owner of the commercial building at one point. Maxwell Coffin was a principal promoter for a bridge and road over the Black River in 1908.2 In 1887, he was living in New York City.3
