Silas and Beth Gaza were accused of murdering Carlos Conklin on January 13, 1883 in Lawrence County. According to the Daily Arkansas Gazette, Col Milton Dyer Baber made the closing argument for the state. The jury returned a verdict of "Not guilty."¹
