In September 1907, Mack Jones was indicted for rape against Ibbie Maynard. (NEARA, Box 79 folder 40) Governor Pindall issued a $100 reward for the capture and conviction of Mack Jones.2

In 1887, Robert Enos was accused of raping Eliza Morgan in Sharp County.1 The trial was moved to Powhatan. Enos was found guilty and sentenced to 21 years. Source: NEAR B28, F88

In 1874, John Kelly was indicted for the rape of a minor, Betty McCall. He was found guilty and sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
