Venture Club: Join as a Club, grow into a business. Gain access to tools. Get tips, advice and ideas from others. You want to make and sell things. You need tools, a workshop, a place to sell from. You've seen a thousand how-to videos. There's so much you want to try! Propose a venture of your own, post the general idea and gather your team. Join one of a dozen ventures already lined up and ready to go. We have to go green fast, and open-source ideas are one way to do that! Join as a club, grow into a business.

There's so many interesting things going on in the world, just not in your town. There's so many things you want to try, make, bake, build and do. But it's economics. The tool costs too much. The equipment might save you money, but you have no way to make sales. You can't get what you make in to a store. In everything you try to do, you find another fee, fine, rule or regulation that makes no sense at all. Except as a cash grab.

If you want to start a business, what do you need? Time. You need plenty of time for development. Because you keep finding out more about suppliers, how-to techniques, marketing, taxes, machining, buying bulk, stores, total costs and so on. There are very few businesses you can start small and scale up. Minimizing expenses is a real issue, as is the cost of living. Often you reach a point at which you need people to work with. A little help would be nice. But sometimes you spend so much time trying to find people, that you'd have been better of just doing the work yourself! The biggest problem with a venture is that if you can't support yourself, it's very hard to get others on the team. Everyone has a cost of living. Phone bills. Food. Travel expenses.

Entrepreneurship centres can guide you through the steps. But they cannot deal with a simple fact. It's not that hard to make pizza. This should be a small and scalable business. But it's not, because even a vacant lot starts at a quarter-million. And rental prices coupled to ridiculous insurance rates are designed to skim all your profit and leave you working for nothing. If you take a job to cover basic expenses, it leaves you no time to work on your project. The way things are going, you can work full time and not even cover your bills. And if you take a higher-paying job, the demands are so high that you have no time at all for what you know you need to do. Speculators seeking income without labour have made life miserable for everyone else. They don't want to work, but they want money. You want to work, but they charge so much they block you. Entire downtowns can be vacant because a few speculators claim to own everything. They say your downtown doesn't belong to you. They'd rather have run down buildings and empty store fronts than a healthy caring community. Nothing is priced for startups. You can't catch a break! Canada's pioneers stood a better chance than you! Now we have an entire generation of youth, not unable to get anywhere in life but facing a grim to dire future!

In all this, there's one thing we know that works. Take a room full of teens. Pose a problem and ask for solutions. within the hour, they'll be up there giving presentations!

Add to that all the things you know are not that hard to make. Add to that everything that is obvious and open source. All those how-to videos on a million topics. Things that don't cost that much for tools and parts. You don't need to come up  with something new, but you could. All you really need to do is make something of quality and sell it honestly at a fair price. Because that's exactly what's lacking in the market. Quality, honesty and fair prices. Do that and you'll do well.

Right now we desperately need to get away from burning gas. This is a practical problem. You walk everywhere. That's highly limiting, especially if you need to carry stuff. A bike is a huge step up. An electric bike is another huge step up, as is adding a trailer. The next step up is a car, but that'll cost you, pollute and ruin our future. Each of those steps is a huge market gap. Something's missing. Small electric vehicles. All the things you can make using batteries tied to electric motors and recharged by solar. Small, scalable, DIY and with fantastic potential for a green future. That's what you want to get in on. It's all open source. There's room for design and innovation, creativity. You can order everything you need.

But if you want to build a business, all that takes time. Time we don't have. We have barely 10 years left to turn things around, locally and globally. We need to go green fast. The only way we know how to do that is in teams. Gather all the best ideas on the planet for making, building and doing - which are open-source anyway, thanks to the Internet, and get everyone doing them everywhere. So that's what we've done. Here's a dozen new green ventures in Quinte you can join today to work with others, solve problems, start building and selling:

Manufacturing    A fraction of what’s under active development. At the very bottom of this page, tell us the M number of a group that interests you.

M1. Solid wood panel doors. Time, materials, tool, examples, suppliers, pricing prepared for dozens of designs. Make your own. Have a set made for you. Marketing and sales plan in place. Interior and thick insulated exterior doors. We have an innovative tool for art and craft semi-custom open designs, semi-automated production low-mid-market prices.

M4. Engineered beams, two-bys and trusses. We have a rare old technique combined with fibre rod, standard milling and glue up. Insulating papercrete core for fire- rot- and bug-resistance. A response to the increasing scarcity of large lumber. Not just for construction, also for strong furniture and shelving.

M17. Electric dune buggy. Part of our electric vehicles and tools manufacturing group. Way to cool to resist. Fibre-rod flex frame with machined-metal tooled joints and recycled plastics hull. Optimal strength-weight structure. Solar roof and light long-lasting fast-recharge lithium battery bank removable for other purposes. Designed for repair, towing, running supplies, work in snow, multipurpose.

M14. Patio Pavers. Recycled plastic melt composite using sand to recycled asphalt grinds pressed into paver blocks.

M15. CNC Carve & Mill. You’ve seen what they can do. But how to get your hands on one? How to build a business? How to get a workshop, a sales outlet? You’ll want micro-milling, yes, but also a large-scale X-Y-Z stepper-motor-controlled overhead rack to tackle manufacture of architectural-supply pieces.

M3. Table and craft desk manufacturing. We focus on this because of the simplicity of construction, the vast latitude for artistic design, the need for solid-built longevity that maintains value, and our connections to local farm-forests with  replanting programs.

M2. Window manufacturing. A wide-open market for small beveled glass sealed units set in authentic wood frames. An ongoing need for single-pane storm-window units removable with magnetic seals. A market for pre-framed art-glass ovals easily inset into interior or exterior walls, but if a single person were to try this as a business on their own, the price would be too high. We have a smarter social plan to build and sell as needed, then keep the business safe and secure.

M8. Five-gallon-pail cement mixer. On or off grid. You totally get that. You want one already.

M18. Electric power wheelbarrow. You’ve all been there. Heavy load, bit of a hill. Getting a truck in might not be an option, or you don’t have one or don’t want to. You like quiet muscle and a barrow is the best. Add thumb-throttle power assist with a high-amp lithium thruster running a high-torque under-frame DC motor for all-day get-it-done productivity.

M9. Aluminum, zinc and bronze casting and milling. Some metals melt at low temperature, almost under stove-top conditions. From flame to induction melting, the setup costs and energy requirements are low. Next you need casting sand. Make a mold from the part you want, or CNC mill it from hard foam. Melt, pour, cool and machine. There is an urgent need for garden spray heads that last. And we can think of much, much more. This is part of our metalworking and machining group.

M7. Model-T wood spoke wheels. Hub and rim lathed from small-car wheels. Matching rubber re-cut wired glued tubeless. This is just too cool. Wheels have many uses. We want 80 year tough repairable longevity no flats no excuses.

M6. Power carts. A variety of sizes with various load capacity, range and power. Hooks onto the real axle of a bike. Run your load 70 km. Run a paint and repair business, lawn care, without the need for an expensive truck. Lithium battery, under-cart motor and drive chain, handlebar thumb-throttle to trailer-wire harness. Get groceries, remove yard waste, run it out to the beach. Great strength/weight ratio with our new fiberglass to metal knuckle repairable design. Optional solar panel recharging cover. Gas and insurance, goodbye. Do you have weld, pipe-bend, drill machine and tap skills and interests … and we need an artist to give it that look. Part of our e-bike and small electric vehicles manufacturing group.

M16. Join our farm windmill water lift electricity generation group. We also make ground-heat greenhouses, chicken coops, barns, and flat-thermal air shell houses. Did you know we can grow oranges economically in Canada?

M10. Natural carbon-sand-gravel-cloth water filters, renewable, chemical-free with UV bacteria-killing light. Cities use these at large scale, but ours is home-sized. Mimics how the Earth treats water from the soil surface down well level.

M19. Off-grid power tools manufacturing group. We have dozens of tools we just have to make. Join to get details.

M3. Table and craft desk manufacturing. We focus on this because of the simplicity of construction, the vast latitude for artistic design, the need for solid-built longevity that maintains value, and our connections to local farm-forests with  replanting programs.

Food Security   Wells in California are drying up. They supply produce to Canada. Escalating food prices are one result. If you can’t afford food, you could grow it. Potatoes, for example, grow like weeds. There are 600 species to explore. Access to land and tools may be an issue. Finding a sales outlet may be another. If a rototiller costs $600, will you grow enough to recover these expenses? Winter storage is another issue. Fortunately, we have all these issues covered. It is most economical to work with others using well-known ways to address all these problems. Work with others to buy bulk, pool resources, slash life expenses, gain food security and maybe even make a profit. You’re in the Company of family and friends.

F1. FarmAssist. You have land. You need repairs done. We need a corner for high-value vegetable crops. Can we make a deal? If you join the Company, one thing we can do is issue bonds. We can issue shares. We can set up a bee-keeping business. We can build a sales outlet. We can build or use a barn for woodworking. We can plant trees needed for furniture. We can make an open limited-time deal that best suits what you want. We know farmers need support, sales outlets, help in the spring and fall. We have youth unemployment. Let’s make a deal.

F6. Slash living expenses. Suppose you have five friends, all struggling to make ends meet. Each of you is doing separate runs to the grocery store. Some of you are stocking up on specials. So this is a question of storage. A place to put what is bought in bulk to slash life expenses. Always have spaghetti sauce at a dollar a can. Quite literally a store. An insulated shed or garage with just enough heat to prevent freezing. This is a question of organization and access. Questions that are easily solved. Answers that we just hand to you. This is just smart economics.

F7. Make & Sell Store. Now we move from cost savings to co-ownership, the possibility of also generating an income. A buying club. An an individual, or as a group not registered as a company, or without the intent of resale for profit, you cannot access bulk wholesale prices direct from manufacturers. You cannot access cheese. You cannot make and sell your own products. But with a group of friends each doing the research and work needed, you can gain food security. Especially if linked directly to local farmers. Are you sick of escalating prices and ready to take charge of your life? Join us!

F8. Parents, invest directly in the ventures of your kids. Get the rototiller. Create summer work for youth. Write a deal where the return on investment is potatoes at $2 a bag. Stay in charge of the finances and work done. This is your department in the Company of Canadians. You’re in the Company of family and friends. Get tax support, business support, marketing support if you need it, in fair proportion to what you can afford.

F2. Truck and tool co-own. Need a car? Use the company car. You own a share in the asset. You pay in proportion to its use. Five friends slash the cost of the purchase to one-fifth. Suppose you need a chainsaw once in a while. Why buy, maintain and store it when you have no problem with renting? Ah, but here you own the rental operation. All the tools are there for you to use. It’s your company. That’s how companies operate. That’s why they do so well, by common access to land, tools, buildings, printers, office space, cars, trucks. Want in on the party? Join a company. Alone, you’re just not making it. Companies are successful because only here can you access your critical economic and social rights to mutual success.

F4. Make and sell bread. Right now, and for the first time in world history, people are denied direct access to wheat. This is about gaining economical access to a food critical to life security. Take a look at the price of a tonne of wheat. Take a look at the price of a loaf of bread. This is a very good business to get into. Your Section 7 Charter rights defend your right to freely tackle all issues of life security. And it’s a free market.

F5. Make and sell pizza. This should not be hard, but in Trenton, speculators seeking income without labour have seized control to the extent that even a vacant lot costs a quarter-million dollars. They have removed all possibilities of a scalable start-up from scratch, in direct violation of your right to work to sustain yourself. It’s ridiculous. It should not be that hard to make and sell pizza. But now you have to be a genius to find your way around all that corruption. Or you have to find a genius. But since the future of the planet is at stake, and that means your future here in Trenton, which is already not looking good, we took pains to gather all the geniuses in the world to defend you. We gathered the top minds on the planet including every living Nobel laureate to work on your behalf. And within that strategy to save the planet, we found a way to you to make, market and deliver good, healthy, nutritious pizza at a great price. If you are serious about making and selling food, being a chef or caterer, we have a way for you to get you going in Trenton. Even though you’ve never met them, you have friends in high places looking out for you. Are you ready to roll? This is linked to our small electric vehicles manufacturing group.

F3. Inner City Orchards. You have a tree, but it’s too much to tend and harvest. You want a tree, but you want the bulk price straight from the grower. Someone else wants to buy bulk to get 7 and sell the rest, but it’s too much to find others. Those in Trenton with urgent issues of work and food security don’t have the resources to get anything going. But tackle these issues all at once, and we have a Trenton Youth Jobs Creation plan*. Creating a permanent pool of work for those just starting life from scratch. Then we can move on to apple storage, apple products, getting to market, and taking part in Canada’s role of feeding the world as other countries dry up due to climate change.

* ICO is part of our Trees and Bees life protection plan. Part of our Community Connections plan, because when you are at someone’s house and they see you doing good work, they ask you to do other things too. Part of our ground-heat greenhouse and cold storage construction group. Part of our transportation and energy systems group. Part of our Parent-Youth Investment Group. Part of our parenting, education and mentoring group. If you need support you’ve got it.

F12. Inner City Gardening. You have a home, but no time to landscape and garden. But food is expensive and you need to step it up far beyond what you can do with a shovel. If you buy a rototiller, will you recover the costs in food savings? If you go on summer vacation, will it all dry up? But if a group of neighbors acting as parents buy a rototiller for a teen and overcome problems of transportation, then we’ve created a job that benefits everyone.

Programmers. Get the support you need. Multiple projects on the go. We will be fundraising to get you a server. Raid. Scuzzy. Apache. Java. Wikimedia software. Are we speaking your language? Some time on your projects, some time on ours. You’ll be editing banking and insurance software, programming a medical scanner, building a social interaction Wiki connecting people on the issues, more. We will be voting on the issues, taking polls, showing Elections Canada how it’s done, doing media relations work, connecting people to farmers, running a robust and secure social security system. Not just programming, if you want, but open work in many areas. Because life is multifaceted, and so are you. To start, we will support self-motivated entrepreneurs by providing access to our business and marketing plan, including promotion of your existing business.

Directors Wanted, Company of Canadians. Overall, you’ll be finding and implementing the best ideas known concerning care for people and the ecosystems that sustain our lives as the sole source of our economy. You will direct a portfolio in which you have interest and knowledge. You will tackle transportation from the ground up, getting bikes to kids in need and taking charge of green electric transportation and solar. Others will tackle communications, getting simple inexpensive phones to those most in need, identifying older tech that can be revitalized economically with new ideas, and building the kind connective social structures needed to care for those hit hardest by the worst practices of the past and the upcoming impacts of climate and the loss of farms, forests and fisheries. Others will tackle real robust job creation, protection of children and youth, seniors and anyone in urgent need lacking basic aspects of life security. We need a sustainable finances director. We need seniors for Seniors Support* and youth to tackle all the issues faced by this generation. We will be tackling the cost of living and the creation of opportunities. We will be tackling healthcare. If ever you have wanted to act, both socially and economically, now is the time. If care for others is in your heart, get on board for fun and fair profit. If you are struggling in Trenton with no hope for a future and nothing to lose, why not join? If you are smart and ambitious, but fear for the future laid out for your kids, if you want work with a purpose, or if you simply want to buy bulk and slash the cost of living, join the Company of Canadians. No one will be getting rich at your expense; we have strict anti-takeover policies; we have robust and democratic anti-corruption policies; we have multiple ways to pay you back for the work you put in. Right here in Trenton, we will be tackling the major issue of our time, nothing short of the most urgent threat ever to face humanity. We have a full Constitution to back you, a Union of Canadians to defend you, and a team of Nobel laureates waiting in the wings. Welcome aboard, we need you!
