Raleigh-Durham International airport (IATA code RDU) is the primary airport in the Triangle area, located northwest of Raleigh and southeast of Durham. It opened in 1943 and today serves over 9 million passengers per year.
The airport has a very cool observation park near the Air Traffic Control Tower, you have hear the communication between the pilots and the tower from the elevated lookout area, and there's a very cute playground area with picnic tables. The playground area is a mini-layout of runways and taxiways! Adorable!
The airport serves 35 domestic destinations (including Grand Bahama) and 3 international ones (Cancun (Mexico), Toronto (Canada), London (UK)).
