I run a business called cogeBOX that educates businesses to use emerging technologies and social networking to make better human connections. So, I’m an educator. Why? Because I do a lot of educating. I blog. I tweet. I post. I write proposals and contracts. I am on the phone constantly. I email. I write books. I write whitepapers. I talk. All of this done trying to help businesses and people learn why it’s always about the relationship and the conversations they have, which means I educate a lot.
I was born in North Carolina and have lived here (except for a couple brief stints elsewhere) my whole life. I call Eastern North Carolina home now, about 30 minutes east of Raleigh. I havewonderful son and a wonderful wife, both that keep me going and constantly remind me of the wonders of life.
I am adopted. I cannot recall when I first was told, just that I have always known. My mom is the best mom I could ever ask for, and the only mom I will ever have. I am a face and voice in the struggle for adoptees to have access to their OBC (original birth certificate) just as non-adoptees do.
I am an animal lover and a pack leader. I love all animals and have both dogs and a cat(who thinks he’s a dog…we are working on those issues). I work with shelters, veterinarians and care providers with behavior assessment as well as match making for individuals and families looking to adopt those animals in need. PSA: Have your animal spayed or neutered.
