Mike LegerosRaleigh Fire Station 1 first opened in 1953 to serve the downtown Raleigh community. Its current location was preceded by locations at 412 South Salisbury Street and 112 West Morgan Street. This station is one of only 3 stations in Raleigh that still has a fire pole installed for quick transportation between floors of its building.
