Hilburn Academy is part of the Wake County Public School System and serves students in grades preK-6 in 2012-2013, with the addition of 7th grade in 2013 and 8th grade in 2014.  The school has a combined STEM/Global Studies focus.  Every student receives their choice of global language instruction in either Spanish, Mandarin Chinese or Arabic.  Highlights of the program include a focus on project-based learning and 21st C skills, a new iMac Lab, Science & Engineering building, iPads and SmartBoards in every classroom and new personal laptop computers for every student in the middle grades.  Parents are highly engaged in the school community and provide a great deal of support to the rich curriculum and learning opportunities that the school provides.
