The NeighborWoods program fosters a partnership between the City of Raleigh and its' citizens toward planting and caring for street trees in residential neighborhoods. Through the program, the City gives free trees to residents in exchange for planting and caring for the trees.
The NeighborWoods program has planted over 10,500 trees since 2003!
There are 3 requirements to receive free trees through the NeighborWoods tree planting program:
- Residence must be located within the Raleigh city limits.
- Trees must be planted within the City's rights of way as a street tree.
- Pledge to plant, water, and mulch the tree for at least 2 years.
We must assess your right of way. E-mail the the Tree Planting Coordinator at[email protected]. Be sure to give us your address and we will put you on the request list.
If you do not have access to e-mail, call 996-4115.
