PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide.

PechaKucha (pronounced roughly: pe-chak-cha) is the Japanese word for chit-chat. PechaKucha Night is a way to share powerful ideas in a fast-paced, high-energy manner: 20 slides presented for 20 seconds each. That’s 6 minutes and 40 seconds for each speaker to get their point across. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

PechaKucha Night is always looking for inspiring talks to share with our community. If you have an idea for a talk or something you think the community needs to hear about, you can contact them via their website. Talks are held 4 times a year and new topics and speakers are always sought for upcoming line-ups.
