Kidd Brewer developed Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, and lived on overlooking Kidd's Hill. He played football for Duke University, coached football at Appalachian University, served in the Navy during World War II, assisted two U.S. senators from North Carolina, and served four months months in state prison for bid-rigging.
