Bravo to the Town of Cary for their very extensive program for curbside recycling and to the residents for their participation!   The town successfully diverted 10,579 tons of material from the landfill in FY 2011.

Did you know that:

  • All collected yaste waste is composted.
  • During the year compost give-aways are scheduled for residents.  Call 919-469-4090 for dates
  • Residential waste cooking oil is used to make an environmentally friendly bio-fuel.  Call 919-469-4090 to schedule a free pick-up of your cooking oil.
  • Cary was first in the state to offer curbside pick-up of discarded computers for recycling.

Find out how to recycle or get rid of anything!

See Cary's recycling page

While this is a great tool, I would definitely recommend that you call the organization before going, as the information may not be up-to-date.
