Ms. Thomason has over 30 years experience as a music educator and choral director. She is an honors graduate of Furman University, with a degree in music education and choral certification at both elementary and secondary levels.

As an elementary and middle school music teacher she directed various auditioned choirs, performing throughout the community and participating in choral festivals. She has served as an educator in residence in western Wake County elementary schools through a program sponsored by the Town of Cary.

She has also directed church choral ensembles of all ages, with particular emphasis on involving children in choral activities. A Cary resident since 1993, she maintains a private studio of approximately 40 piano students and is a frequent adjudicator of festivals and competitions.
