Troika was an annual music festival taking place in Durham, NC every year from 2000 to 2010. Originally started as the Durham Music Festival, the stated goal was to "bring music to Durham in a format that supported the artists, fans and venues." 1 After Hopscotch Music Festival took off in Raleigh, the director of Troika, Mel Thomas (of 307 Knox) decided they had achieved their goal: of putting Durham and its surrounding communities on the map, and they decided to stop arranging new Troika festivals.
