I'm Rick Ross, and I have lived in Cary since moving here from New York City in 1999. My wife, Elizabeth, and I have been married about 20 years, and we have two teenage daughters whom we homeschool. I also have two older daughters who live in the Triangle area. One of them,  Lizzy Ross, is a popular local singer and songwriter who you can see perform at all kinds of local venues and festivals.

I own and run DZone, a popular tech website for IT developers and web designers. DZone gets about 6 million page views per month and provides focused "zones" for a wide variety of highly specialized topics like Java, DevOps, Agile Methodologies, NoSQL, Enterprise Integration and more. I often tell people that the "D" in DZone stands for "dork", and they quickly understand what I mean. DZone is pretty seriously uber-dorky, but if you're in the audience segment we serve you'll almost certainly find it a useful resource.

In the past couple of years I have become very intrigued by the ways people share knowledge online, and DZone has become deeply involved in online social question-and-answer technology. First we created a simple, entry-level open source Q&A system called OSQA, which quickly became one of the most popular Q&A tools in the world. Later, we created a much more powerful social Q&A system called AnswerHub, which is now used for mission-critical online support by a wide variety of enterprise, educational and non-profit customers.

I'm excited about living in the Triangle, and one of our new AnswerHub projects is a free, local Q&A system for Raleigh called AskRaleigh.com, which we hope can become a great collaborative resource to use in conjunction with TriangleWiki to help people find and share useful knowledge about the area. Check it out, and don't forget to link back to TriangleWiki when you're answering people's questions!
