The Shasta Regional Medical Center is one of two hospitals in Redding. The facility was formerly known as the Redding Medical Center before it changed its name and received new management. The Shasta Regional Medical Center has received from the California Health Care Foundation and the California Institute for Health Systems a 3-Star rating (the highest) and is the only hospital in Shasta County to receive it. It has 246 bed and is multispeciality. It also contains 19 emergency department rooms and 48 private rooms. It was founded in 1945 as a Memorial Hospital.
