The National Championship Air Races is the last pylon racing event in the world, held each year at Stead Field, north of Reno. It features seven classes of aircraft (biplane class, formula one class, sport class, T-6 class, jet class and race favorite unlimited class) racing around the unique course, anywhere from 50 to 500 feet above the ground flying wing-tip to wing-tip at speeds exceeding 500 miles per hour. The event also features military displays, aerobatic performances and stunt flying.
