University of Nevada Reno Galleries: The Sheppard Gallery: Sheppard Gallery is the only professional exhibit on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. Along with the Department of Art, the gallery is dedicated to experimental visual arts research. Located on the first floor of the Church Fine Arts complex, it usually includes nine or ten separate installations by local, national and international artists.
Sheppard Gallery began in the 1960s, and continues to grow with the help of contemporary artists. It is utilized to encourage artistic experimentation and development, and benefits largely from the community--within the university and beyond.
The gallery is always free and open to the public, courtesy of the generous supporters.
