Eat Drink RI is a media service that covers culinary events and companies in southeast New England. It was founded in 2010 by Coventry resident David Dadekian, a local food writer/photographer, private chef and cooking instructor. The news resource covers local food events, chefs & restaurants, the beverage industry, and locally produced artisanal products. Eat Drink RI produces and promotes several all-local culinary events, including an annual 4-day Festival in Providence celebrating the best of the culinary world in Rhode Island.

In April of 2014 Dadekian received a Rhode Island Innovation Fellowship from the Rhode Island Foundation for his project the Eat Drink RI Central Market. The plan is to create a centralized culinary hub for Rhode Island that includes a business-to-business and business-to-consumer center, as well as being a destination for visitors to Rhode Island. This culinary hub would be integral to the way Rhode Islanders eat and would create a model for wider emulation in other regions of the country.

Dadekian believes that a strong, connected food industry touches many aspects of the life of every person, because food is a health issue, an economic issue, a climate issue, a life-sustaining issue and purely a pleasure, and with the Eat Drink RI Central Market, Rhode Island can be at the forefront of all these things.
