- “Col. Alexander Kilborn, b. [born] April 5, 1791, m. [married] Thankful H. Bangs. He early had a predilection for the military service, arose from the place of Sergeant to that of Lieut.-Colonel of militia. At the breaking out of the Rebellion in 1837 he had the command of a company of volunteers. In the winter of 1837-1838, while on his way to secure some prisoners, he received a severe wound in the abdomen, which nearly proved fatal. […] Colonel Kilborn, d. [died] April 20, 1872.”
