  • HALL, George William, Rock Island, Que. — Born at Dunham, May 14, 1857, son of William and Mary (Doncaster) Hall, England; E. public schools, A.F. & A.M.; Conservative; Anglican; engaged in livery business at Knowlton, then purchased Lakeview Hotel from Wm. Albee; sold to J. N. Robinson and went to Waterloo as manager of the Hall Hotel; farmed for two years at Brome, and in 1903 purchased Stanstead Hotel; five years later sold to C. F. Whitcher and same year bought Rock Island Hotel from Albert E. Cooper, with Charles Nettleton; married Jessie Miller, Nov. 7, 1880; children, Nellie M. (Mrs. C. Nettleton.)
