Mr. Morrill has recently, in connection with Mr. J. Reece, an ingenious machinist, fitted up the first floor of this building for a first rate machine shop in which will shortly be set up new and improved machinery for manufacturing sewing machines and doing job work. He also has just let a contract for the construction of a foundry building contiguous to the machine shop, so as to be able to furnish their own castings”.

    • “The firm of O. Morrill & Co., of Rock Island, are manufacturing an entirely new thing in the sewing machine line, called the “Circular Shuttle Sewing Machine”. It is far ahead of all other machines now manufactured in some respects. The appointments of this machine are all new and original. The Company are now turning out twenty or thirty machines per week of superior finish and workmanship […] Call and examine the machine, buy one and be happy”.
