Adult Schools are usually affiliated with school districts and fill an educational gap between K-12 schools and colleges.  They usually provide courses in basic literacy and math skills, GED completion courses, English as a Second Language courses, and programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Some may also offer specific job training programs (like medical billing or nursing assistant training), lifelong learner/mature learner programs, and recreational courses for the general public.
