The Belle Cooledge Library moved into its new 12,000 square-foot facility at the corner of Fruitridge and South Land Park Drive in 1992. In 2010, the library underwent a remodel, providing an organic, spacious, and colorful look to our busy library.

Our children's area features organic forms, bright colors, and comfortable seating. "I like the atmosphere and I love the attention to children," said one library volunteer. While the bright and attractive area is children-friendly, some young patrons also like the fact that the aisles have numbers on them ... just like the adult aisles do. The three self check-out machines, located near the library's main entrance, are also a huge hit with the library's younger crowd.

The teen area boasts cafe-style seating - a true gathering spot for young adults. "I like to sit there and read," said one teen. "The tables and chairs are comfortable."

In the adult area, tall shelving encloses a quiet reading space equipped with cushy chairs, perfect for using the library's free Wi-Fi on a laptop. Also, a regular Cooledge patron commented on the use of slatwall displays. With items on display, books are much more visible, she said.
