New improvements (3 individual shade structures & a security camera) have been installed at Charlie Jensen Park, an aviation-themed park. Charlie "Red" Jensen was the first licensed airplane mechanic in California. Jensen also owned and operated Jensen Airport, a small airport that was located within the Land Park community. In 2005, the City Council voted to name a park after this distinguished aviation pioneer in recognition of his many contributions to this region's aviation history. This two park officially opened in April 2007 includes: A play area, open turf, picnic tables, 3 individual shade structures (July 2011), open space, aviation-inspired elements, security camera (July 2011).
