Center staff are available to help seniors and their families link to other supportive services in the community.

Mission Statement: It is the mission of the staff and policies of the Ethel MacLeod Hart Multipurpose Senior Center to create an environment which welcomes older people, supports their independence, and affirms their dignity. Our mission is accomplished by a commitment to positive personal interactions and the highest quality services and activities possible.

History of the Hart Senior Center: The Sacramento Senior Center was opened in 1961. The center is conveniently located in Marshall Park in midtown Sacramento and has a welcoming and relaxing park-like feeling. The building also has unique architecture, which adds to its park setting. In October of 1994, the center was renamed in honor of Ethel MacLeod Hart for her generosity to the city’s senior citizens.
