Lutheran Social Services (LSS) offers the hope of lives transformed to people of all faiths (or no faith) who are vulnerable because of homelessness, mental illness, addiction or disaster.

Lutheran Social Services has served homeless people and emancipating foster youth in Sacramento County for 48 years. They operate nine housing programs in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties, providing:

• Transitional housing and shelters for homeless families, individuals, and youth.
• Permanent supportive housing for disabled individuals, families, and youth emerging from foster care.
• Case management for individuals and families who are permanently housed.

They have developed strategic community partnerships that encourage innovative development of services—including partnerships with property management companies, childcare providers, in-home therapy providers, and other continuum of care providers. They also work with their clients on ways to better serve their needs.
