  • Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) — A fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism (a Twelve-Step Program).
  • Al-Anon and Alateen — A fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems (a Twelve-Step Program).

  • Breast Cancer Network of Strength — A support group for men and women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.
  • Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) — Monthly meetings feature a guest speaker as well as break out support groups on various topics (adults, parenting/children, advocacy, educational/school, medications, coaching, etc.).
  • Co-Dependents Anonymous (CoDA) — A fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships (a Twelve-Step Program).
  • The Compassionate Friends - sacvalleytcf — A nonprofit, self-help, support organization for bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child of any age and from any cause.
  • Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance — Support and a greater understanding of how mood disorders can affect your lives through the shared experiences of people who have been there and who understand the journey.
  • Friends for Survival — A national non-profit outreach organization open to those who have lost family or friends by suicide.
  • Marijuana Anonymous — A fellowship of men and women who share our experience, strength, and hope with each other that we may solve our common problem and help others to recover from marijuana addiction (a Twelve-Step Program).
  • Mercy San Juan Bereavement Group

  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) — A grassroots, self-help, volunteer support and advocacy organization of consumers, family members and friends of persons afflicted with serious brain disorders (mental illnesses).
  • Narcotics Anonymous (NA) — A fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem (a Twelve-Step Program).
  • OCD Kids Sacramento — A free support group for kids and teens (age 18 and under) suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and their families.
  • Overeaters Anonymous (OA) — A fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating (a Twelve-Step Program).
  • Spondylitis Educational Support Group - A peer-led forum for those with Spondyloarthritis, or SpA (Ankylosing Spondylitis, Enteropathic Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Reactive Arthritis, Undifferentiated SpA, Juvenile SpA, Axial SpA, Peripheral SpA.) 

  • UC Davis Cancer Center — A listing of patient and family support groups, including groups specific to certain types of cancer (e.g., brain, breast, prostate, etc.).
  • UC Davis Hospice Support Group

  • Warmline Family Resource Center — A local organization that provides support for families with children who have special needs, including a variety of support groups (e.g., a mom's coffee meet up group, an epilepsy support group, etc.).
