According to their website, Triple-R is committed to providing a safe and enriching environment that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for people with memory loss or frailty and supports family caregivers through respite, education and counseling. There are no formal eligibility requirements to attend Triple-R. The average participant is in his/her 70s and has some memory loss, though the age range for participants varies widely from ages 50-99.

Services

Triple-R offers low-cost services, which include:

  • A safe, secure environment
  • Socialization and companionship
  • Activities to promote independence and self-esteem
  • Assistance with toileting, walking, eating and medications
  • Nutritious meals and snacks
  • Health supervision
  • Exercise
  • Mental stimulation
  • Guidance and assistance from a well-trained staff specializing in dementia care

Activities

Some activities provided at Triple-R are:

  • Making music (singing, Suzuki chimes, rythmic instruments)
  • Cooking
  • Gardening
  • Exercise (stretching, chi dong, dyna-bands, walks)
  • Art and woodwork
  • Sports (shuffleboard, golf, basketball, ring/balloon/bean-bag toss)
  • Word puzzles
  • Reminisce/discussion are the focus of each day

Volunteering

According to the Triple-R website, There are many volunteers that work there, including Sacramento State University interns. The only requirement is that you must be dedicated.

Rates

The rate is $62-$72 per day, depending on how much care needed.

Triple-R has been named the Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center (ADCRC) for Sacramento.
