Walnut Grove Library is the only full-time library in the Delta Service Area, located in southwest Sacramento County. The first Walnut Grove Library opened in 1919. The present Library serves a steadily growing, primarily rural agricultural community.

Walnut Grove Library features a collection of 15,000 book titles, a selection of popular magazines, CDs, books on tape, videos, and public-access Internet service. The Library also maintains a sizeable Spanish language collection to serve the large number of native Spanish-speaking families in the area.

Walnut Grove Library furnishes vital augmentation of materials and services to the local elementary school, Head Start, and Delta area high schools. By doing so, we extend the resources available to students and teachers, as well as offering a place to quietly read and study.

The Library works closely with the Affiliate Friends, Walnut Grove Elementary School and its PTA to offer a variety of programs and educational incentives to the children of the community. These events include summer reading, children's programs, and after-school learning assistance.

The availability of a broad and updated selection of recreational reading, listening and reference materials has truly made Walnut Grove Library the place to go for answers and entertainment in the Delta.
