Westminster Presbyterian is a progressive, inclusive Christian church in the heart of downtown Sacramento, recently celebrating its 151st year. The congregation strives to work towards social justice and interfaith causes, like raising awareness by bringing guest speaker Mukhtar Mai to services on December 9th, 2007.

They "seek to nurture and to serve, ministering to each other and to God’s creation, speaking out to promote justice for all humanity," and to, "pray for understanding as we reach out to those without faith and listen to those of other faiths, accepting all as sisters and brothers in one family of our Creator God." The congregation has also brought Dr. Matthew Fox, Bishop John Shelby Spong, and Dr. Jack Rogers to speak. On May 14th, 2009, pianist, Leon Fleisher gave a recital at Westminster to benefit Sacramento's homeless population. The popular Music at Noon concert series brings professional musicians of all genres to the sanctuary on Wednesday afternoons.

The congregation's present building (1927) is modeled after Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The architecture in the sanctuary combines symbols of both Christian and Jewish faiths. The building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
