Abel Maldonado is a Republican who was Lieutenant Governor of California (April 27, 2010 – January 10, 2011), state senator of District 15, which includes parts of Santa Cruz County, Monterey County, San Luis Obispo, the southeast portion of Santa Clara County, and the northern portion of Santa Barbara County. He was born on August 21, 1967 in Santa Maria, California, where he bagan his political career.
