Bookshop Santa Cruz is widely regarded as one of the best independent bookstores in Northern California. They sell a wide range of books, new and used, as well as Santa Cruz/local merchandise (Like "Keep Santa Cruz Weird" tees and Slingshot planners in December). They also have some of the only clean, comfortable, public restrooms in downtown Santa Cruz (a commendable effort in itself). There are a lot of places for people to sit and read inside of the store, and it is always interesting to see the different types of people reading there.
