Byrne-Milliron Forest is a small wooded open space located in the hills above the town of Corralitos. The park is described as a "working forest" and is owned and managed by the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County.
The forest contains a network of short, steep hiking trails, with views of Corralitos, the Pajaro Valley, and Monterey Bay.
A 1,000 year old, 250-foot tall “Great White” redwood is located in the forest.
Group tours of the forest can be scheduled by contacting the Land Trust.
History
Byrne became a part of the Trust in 1984, and Milliron (pronounced just as the two separate words ‘mill’ and ‘iron’) in 2008.
