The College Eight cafe overlooks the College Eight quad, just across the way from the dining hall and the mailroom. The cafe serves coffee, sandwiches, bagels, soup (made daily), deli items, all sorts of snacks, soda, and ice cream (including milkshakes). Amenities of the cafe include a billiards table, ATM machine, microwave, water cooler/hot water. Adjacent to the cafe is a small lounge which includes a unisex bathroom, piano albeit a pretty rickety one), couches, coffee table, a public bulletin board, and various free school-sponsored and local publications.
The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, and wireless internet access for UCSC students.
The cafe usually has a selection of student artwork on display that rotates on a quarterly basis.
