The Davenport Jail was built in 1914 and decommissioned in 1936. It was used twice as a jail. It has two cells. After 1936, the county Sheriff department would transport any criminals to the county jail in Santa Cruz.

The Jail is currently a small museum with information on the area of Davenport.  It is open the first Sunday of every month.

In 1992, it was added to the National Registry of Historic Places.
