Deer Creek Restaurant served continental cuisine for lunch and dinner. Their house specialties included the baby back ribs and the rack of lamb. The restaurant also had a small bar and a large outdoor patio where diners could enjoy the great views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Former businesses in this location was Nonno's Summit Cafe. After Deer Creek Restaurant closed it became the Summit Roadhouse.
As of 2006 the California Highway Patrol has listed this area as an approved temporary inspection area.
