Happy Valley is an area formerly known as Blackburn Gulch. Happy Valley is at the end of Branciforte Drive. Branciforte Drive is at the end of Market Street. (Branciforte Drive does NOT connect with Branciforte ''Avenue''.)
Happy Valley Road is off of Branciforte Drive along Crystal Creek.
History
Before the name "Blackburn Gulch," it was earlier known as Squabble Hallow, possibly due to border disputes in the area. There is evidence that the name, Happy Valley, was applied after the Happy Valley Resort (circa 1930) located in Blackburn Gulch. There is a popular local riddle: "Why is it called Happy Valley?" "Because it has valley happy people!"
