Hexbreaker is a Santa Cruz experimental band formed in 2006. Adhering primarily to the DIY or "Do It Yourself" aesthetic, Hexbreaker released a self titled debut featuring a limited release of uniquely designed, hand crafted CDR's. Several months later Hexbreaker was added to the roster of Diagnosis Dont! Records for a limited edition EP. Hexbreaker was formed when Chris Sciacca responded to a craigslist add placed by Rey Diego looking for noise musicians inspired by the likes of experimental bands such as Crash Worship, Sword Heaven, Yellow Swans, Skaters etc. Hexbreakers sound has been described as "continuously meshing music genres, music concrete, ambience, and jazz to name a few" and producing " warm, bottom-of-a-well drones textured with shimmering organs, melodic synth tones, strangulated guitars, electronic striations, and static noise... on a fragile wire, threatening to plunge either into out n’ out ambience or full throttle industrialism."
