Highway 236 is an 18 mile stretch of Big Basin Way that is shaped like a "C." It begins at the north end of downtown Boulder Creek, at Highway 9, passes by the Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club, and then runs through Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The highway ends when it meets back up with Highway 9, about six miles south of Highway 35, near Castle Rock State Park and Waterman Gap.
