Leask's was originally on Pacific Avenue located where Urban Outfitters and Regal Cinema 9 now stands. In 1988 Gottschalks bought Leask's. The original Leask's downtown Santa Cruz store was closed and demolished by Gottschalks after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake damaged the store. Leask's also had locations in Scotts Valley, the Capitola Mall and Rancho Del Mar Shopping Center.
