The flat topped Loma Prieta is visible from a wide variety of locations in the county, and is the highest point in the Santa Cruz Mountains with an elevation of 3786 feet. The top is on private property, has a television transmitter on it and is technically in Santa Clara County. Though it is on private property, hiking to the top is possible by starting at Uvas Canyon County Park and taking the Knibbs Knob Trail to Mount Madonna Road to Loma Prieta Road to the Summit Trail to a steep dirt trail.
