In 2015 this store and several others in Northern California were re-branded as Lucky.

This supermarket started as an Alpha Beta supermarket. In the late 80s, it became a Lucky Supermarket. In 1999, Albertson's took over all of the Lucky stores and got rid of the Lucky name.

In 2006 a group led by Cerberus Capital Management announced they had agreed to acquire Albertsons for cash, stock and debt assumption. To get a quick return on the investment, they sold off over 600 Albertson's stores in Northern California, and seven other states.

A smaller grocery chain from Modesto purchased all of the Northern California stores and renamed the store Save Mart in 2007. The company is California owned and operated.

History: Lucky had a history dating back to 1935 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Save Mart revived the Lucky name in 2007 and renamed stores in the San Francisco Bay Area back to the original name of Lucky. In 2015, the remaining Save Mart stores in this area were re-branded as Lucky.

The Save Mart at 1465 Main Street, in  Watsonville changed the name to FoodMaxx in 2012. It is still a division of Save Mart.

The Lucky store on 41st Avenue, often has a few items sold no where else in the county. Canned liver wurst as one example.
