Santa Clara County and enters Santa Cruz County at Summit Road east of Highway 17. From Summit Road it winds through residential and wooded areas to junction at Highway 17 south of the Casa del 17 fruit stand. (While local traffic will enter from this junction, it is not a safe place to merge with Highway 17.)

Name is from history. It was the OLD Highway to Santa Cruz. It is replaced by Highway 17.

Bike-Friendliness

No bike lanes, hilly, and narrow road in places. Since the downhill end is Highway 17 it could be a disappointing ride.
