Pac Bell once had their own credit card. ATT
A provider of telephone service, cellular phone service, internet and other communication services in the USA. They are the owner (again) of Pacific Bell and since 2002, the preferred brand name of the company.
Pacific Bell
After the AT&T breakup in 1984, the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company changed its name to Pacific Bell Telephone Company (PacBell). In 1997, PacBell was bought by SBC Communications. SBC continued using the original name of the company. In September 2001, SBC renamed PacBell "SBC Pacific Bell". In 2002, it became just "SBC". For legal reasons part of SBC was "Pacific Bell Telephone Company d/b/a SBC California."
As of 2002, the name “Pacific Bell” is no longer commonly used. [1]
In 2005, SBC acquired AT&T Corporation. and became AT&T Inc. PacBell is now known as Pacific Bell Telephone Company d/b/a AT&T California.
