The Redwood Mountain Faire is making its return June 5, 2010 as an outdoor live music festival for the San Lorenzo Valley. The first year the fair was held in 1980, it was called "The Highlands Faire," because of it being located at Highlands Park in Ben Lomond. Over the years the festival featured a diverse range of local and national acts, including Etta James, Lacy J Dalton, Bob Brozman, David Grisman, Elvin Bishop, Patrick Simmons, Kate Wolf, Taj Mahal, Norton Buffalo, Nicolette Larson, The Dinosaurs, Ginny Mitchell, Santa Cruz Steele, Pele Juju, Country Joe McDonald, and Jefferson Starship. Past emcees of the festival include Bruce Bratton. 1996 was the last year it was held until the 2010 revival. 2010 looks to be a largely local lineup with Matt Costa, Jaymes Reunion, Snail, Moonalice, Sharon Allen & Friends, Brothers Comatose, and Take 1 scheduled to play the 'Meadow Stage,' and Mary McCaslin, Jay Lingo, Patti Maxine, Harmony Grits, Michael Gaither, and Taylor Rae scheduled to play the 'Creekside Stage.'
