Dozens of people marched downtown Pacific Avenue. The group, including members of the organization Sin Barras and supporters, were both young and old, and were against prisons.  The basic message is "...prison system is both a moral blight on our society and an overwhelming economic burden, taking away much needed resources from schools, health care, and affordable housing."

To attract attention to the cause, there were drums and horns playing in the march. After marching through the downtown and on Ocean Street, the group held a noise demonstration at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
