Sizzler, as a company started in 1963 and came to Santa Cruz circa 1982. (It appears in the 1982-1983
City Directory.) The 41st Avenue location was the first . They had an office on Hanger Way in Watsonville.
By 1992, a second Sizzler Steakhouse was located in Watsonville.

The logo for Sizzler when it had locations in Santa Cruz County. The new logo began in 1996.


Sizzler filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1996, closed 140 of 215 stores and changed their logo.
The locations in Santa Cruz were closed. Sizzler has gone through a few owners and is still in business. 
The nearest Sizzler restaurants are in San Jose, Morgan Hill and Santa Clara.

The Sizzler on 41st Avenue became a Vetenary office. The Watsonville location became a diferent restaurant
and later the building was split into a Virizon phone store and a dental office.
