The Diversity center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing priorities and causes in Santa Cruz GLBTIQ communities, open to all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds, genders, spiritualities, (dis)abilities and income levels.

Programs

Walk-in Center

The walk-in center is open for people to come and relax or meet with friends. The center is also available to community groups who wish to use the space for meetings.

Lending Library and Cyber Hub

The center has a library of over 2,000 titles (books, videos, newspapers and magazines) related to GLBTIQ issues and interests. Additionally, the center has computer workstations and high-speed wireless internet.

Pride Festival

On the 1st Sunday in June, the Diversity Center hosts the annual Santa Cruz County LGBT Pride Festival and march in Downtown Santa Cruz.

Seniors Program

The center organizes monthly social events and outreach programs for those ages 60 and up.

Trans Healthcare and Referrals

Provides healthcare referrals and bimonthly support groups for trans and trans-questioning people.

Diversity Outreach

Focuses on resources for people of color in the LGBT community and on making the center's resources more available to the county's Chican@/Latin@ populations.

Queer Youth Task Force

The task force assesses needs for queer and questioning youth in the Santa Cruz area and implements plans which work to meet those needs.

Tobacco Use and Cessation

The center provides support and resources for GLBTIQ-specific issues regarding tobacco usage. This program is funded in part by the State Department of Health.
