Trout Gulch Road starts near the 8000 block of Soquel Drive in Aptos. From here it goes for five miles mostly north. It goes into the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park and winds out again.
Bike-Friendliness
There are no bike lanes. Traffic is mostly sparse and drivers are polite. Road is mostly level before you get to the forest. Once in the forest the road has narrow areas and the terrain becomes steeper.
